Full Support Dog Behaviour Training Packages
In-Person Dog behaviour training in Dundee, and the surrounding area
Over a series of private, in-person, sessions, I can help you solve all kinds of behavioural problem including Separation Anxiety, Reactive Behaviour, Aggression, Resource Guarding, Protective & Territorial Behaviour, Mouthing & Biting, Over Excitement, Trauma, and Anxiety. I am a rescue dog and trauma specialist, so don’t worry if you don’t know your dogs history, or anything about the behaviour, I’m very used to that. I never use harsh methods; in fact I’m often asked to undo the effects of harsh training. My techniques have been tried and tested over 20 years to not only solve all kinds of dog behaviour problems, but to also boost confidence, trust, and resilience in your dog.
How does it work?
We’ll start with an assessment. This initial session will include some chat while I get to know your dog better. We’ll talk about their history, personality, their strengths and weaknesses, and then we’ll take a look at the problem behaviours. Once we’ve figured out whats gone wrong we’ll get started with some preliminary advice that might include solving underlying issues, related behaviours, confidence building, trauma recovery, and any techniques we can use in the following sessions.
Did you know? Reactive and Protective behaviour are often symptoms of an unresolved trauma, so I’ll check for that too.
Done properly, solving behaviour problems is gradual process. So over your follow-up sessions we’ll check things are working properly, tweak anything that needs it, and move onto the next steps. We’ll work in stages as that’s the best way to prevent overwhelm for you, and your dog. Plus, it will allow us to check things are working as they should before moving on.
Ongoing Support
Support is available throughout the rehabilitation process, and beyond. I’ll help you stay on track no matter what ups and downs come at you as you navigate the three stages of the learning process with your dog. In particular, I’ll get you through the testing phase and into the habit forming phase, which is the most challenging part, and often causes people to think their training plans are not working!

Some extra FAQs for you…
I can help you with all kinds of canine behavioural problem including hyperactive behaviour, lead pulling, recall problems, aggressive behaviour, reactive dog behaviour, jumping up, mouthing, house training, separation anxiety, and all in between! I’m a rescue dog specialist, so can help you even if you don’t know anything about the dog’s history, or behaviour.
Yes, of course. I’m only ever an email away if you get stuck or have questions.
Yes, definitely. I love figuring out complex and unusual dog behaviour problems. I tend to focus on gently balancing emotion first, then tackling specific behaviours second, which makes a huge difference when working with dogs that “cookie cutter” training doesn’t work for.
Yes, I’ll come to you to do an assessment first. We’ll meet at your home so I can get to know your dog and his behaviour there, and then we’ll go for a walk together. After that we’ll plan where best to do our training sessions. Most of the time I’ll meet you at home, but we could arrange to meet at a park, or somewhere else, whatever makes the most sense!
In person Dog Behaviour Consultations are currently available in the Dundee, Broughty Ferry, Inchture, Monifieth, Newport, and Tayport area, and as far as Carnoustie an Monike.
The dog behaviour training process is different for everyone, but I’ll start off by coming to you for an assessment session. Your dog will behave more “normally” in their own environment, and I’ll get a better sense of them, and what they are trying to achieve with their behaviour. Then over a series of private training sessions (two is the average) we’ll work through all your dogs behavioural challenges together.
Sessions are available throughout the week, and on Sundays. Normally, I have spaces available for new client assessments at around 1-2 weeks notice. Follow-up training sessions are usually scheduled at around 2-3 week intervals to give you plenty of time to practise between sessions.
Yes, of course. It’s very common for dogs to know all the tricks when they are in a quiet place, but due to anxiety, reactivity, OCD, or just being easily distracted, they can’t do them in “real life”. Doing it in a class or distraction free environment might be useful to get things started, but when the environment is the problem, we need to get out and about to make the training work for you there too.
Yes, of course. I don’t pay training staff so you’ll get consistent training from me, and ONLY me, from start to finish.
Yes, no problem, I offer a few services online, including private sessions, courses, and workshops. Click here to get more information from my online services website.
